There are so many fun summer happenings to choose from in and around downtown Miami, and we want to be sure you don’t miss a single one. Check out our August events below...and remember to stay safe out there while having fun!

Miami Spice Restaurant Months

From August 1st through the end of September, enjoy sampling the very best of our city’s restaurant scene during Miami Spice Restaurant Months. Eat at top restaurants for a fraction of the price, with three-course meals offered at just $28 for lunch/brunch and $42 for dinner. Here in downtown, neighborhood favorites like Fi’lia Restaurant and Pubbelly Sushi Brickell City Centre make the cut. For the full list of participating restaurants and more information, check here.

Pour Your Art Out

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts hosts Pour Your Art Out on August 7th. This kid-focused, monthly event is designed to encourage young participants to explore elements such as texture, color, and movement when creating works of art. The inspiration behind this month’s 60-minute art-making session is Vincent Van Gogh’s famous Starry Night painting. Find tickets and additional information here.

International Ballet Festival of Miami

You won’t want to miss the spectacular dancing on-hand at the International Ballet Festival of Miami. This three-week long festival runs until August 15th and features performances from international companies and some of the dance world’s brightest up-and-coming talent. A $10 ticket will get you access to the show, as well as a series of master classes, dance films, and dance-related art exhibitions. Find more information and reserve tickets here.

Viernes Culturales

On the third Friday of this (and every) month, head to Little Havana for the neighborhood’s popular art and culture festival. Viernes Culturales, or Cultural Fridays, draws a large crowd to Domino Plaza for a night of art, music, dancing, delicious food, and more! Mary Brickell Village and Brickell Metrorail Station offer free trolley service to Little Havana every 15 minutes starting at 6:30 pm. For more information, check here.

Drive-In Movie Fridays

This summer, Miami-Dade County Auditorium is hosting a monthly drive-in movie night in their parking lot. Featuring film favorites, the rollicking comedy Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery is set to be this month’s pick on Friday, August 27th. Tickets are $20 per vehicle and include 1 bag of free popcorn with entry. Food trucks will also be available on-site for grabbing additional viewing snacks. Find more information and reserve tickets here.
