Staying Fit at Home

Now that we’re all settled into spending more time at home, maybe you’re looking for ways to incorporate fitness into your new routine. Fortunately, there are lots of great workouts to stream indoors right now, with many local studios offering classes online. Read ahead for a list of virtual options for getting your sweat on from the comfort of your own living room.  

Yoga

If you’re looking to get into the meditative flow of a great yoga class, try Miami’s own Ahana Yoga. Their new digital platform offers unlimited class memberships for less than $20 a month. You can also try a 20 minute class for free!

Pilates

JetSet Miami offers a modern take on the classic Pilates workout. You can now stream their core-busting workout at home with JetSet On Demand. Virtual Pilates and meditation studio Pilathon is hosting a virtual Pilates class marathon from May 1-3rd, in addition to regular online classes. Their daily virtual class schedule can be found here.

Virtual Fitness Studio 

The Fit Shop in North Miami has online resources to keep the whole family moving. Find information for a variety of online workout options here-- from group or private Zoom training sessions to Instagram workouts. They even have a workout option that’s just for kids, featuring games and mini challenges to keep young ones active.

Dance-Based Workouts 

For a workout that will get your heart rate up through cardio-based dancing, try Powerumba. They have many classes available online at a range of ability levels-- find the full list of virtual options here. For barre-based toning workouts, try The Barre Code. Work out with them from home using their On Demand digital platform.

Popular Streaming Sites

The Sculpt Society, a dance cardio and sculpting workout by celebrity trainer Megan Roup, is offering a free fourteen-day trial of their app. Obé Fitness provides virtual access to 100 live classes per week, ranging from sculpt to HIIT to pre and postnatal workouts, as well as a catalogue of 4,000+ on demand workouts to try. Popular fitness studio Barry’s Bootcamp is offering online versions of their high intensity workouts. And the Youtube page for Popsugar Fitness has hundreds of free workouts from celebrity trainers and fitness experts.
