Must Try Summer Recipes

Jun 25, 2020

Summer is here and with it comes a bunch of new recipes by local foodie favorites! We’ve shared seasonal recipes from area food bloggers and chefs before, and we’re back with another round-up of amazing dishes that are quintessentially Miami in style. Read on for five super easy recipes that are sure to delight your taste buds!

Creamy Lemon Pasta

Based in Miami, Jordan Elbaum runs the food and wellness lifestyle blog PricklyFresh. Her Creamy Lemon Pasta recipe looks so yummy and can be made in just fifteen minutes. Best of all, her version is also gluten and dairy free, so the dish is light, summer-inspired, and can be enjoyed by a wide range of pasta lovers! Find the full recipe here.

3-Ingredient Tostones

South Florida native and first generation Cuban-American, Jamie Silva, shares recipes for “approachable comfort food and Latin staples” on her blog A Sassy Spoon. Her three-ingredient tostones recipe is just the thing for when you’re craving an easy, tasty snack. You’ll need green plantains for this (make sure they’re unripe, otherwise you’ll be making sweet plantains instead). Find detailed instructions and the full recipe here.

Artichoke Spinach Dip

We’ve shared Fat Girl Hedonist’s recipe for Tiramisu with a Cuban Twist before and now the Miami food blogger Cari Garcia is back with another delicious dish. Her Low Carb Keto Artichoke Dip is perfect for when you’re looking for a simple, but melt-in-your-mouth tasty, appetizer. She recommends serving with parmesan crisps if you’re looking to avoid carbs. The full recipe can be found here.

Herb Grilled Chicken Wings

Now that warmer weather is here, grilling season is officially upon us! One of our favorite Miami food blogs The Food-e shares their recipe for Herb Grilled Chicken Wings, which they ensure will be a hit at any BBQ. Simply marinate the wings in the fridge in an herb blend overnight-- they’re ready for the grill the next day! If you don’t have access to a grill, broil your wings in the oven instead for thirty minutes, being sure to flip them over after twenty minutes. Find the full recipe here.

Easy Churro Bites

The Girl Who Ate Everything is run by Christy Denney, a mom of five and cookbook author living in Florida. Her Easy Churro Bites only require four basic ingredients: angel food cake, oil, cinnamon, and sugar. The dessert is fun and simple to make and is just the thing for a summer sweet tooth craving! The full recipe can be found here.
