Memorial Day Weekend 2021

May 27, 2021

Memorial Day is nearly upon us, and along with honoring America’s heroes, it’s the perfect time to welcome the unofficial start of summer! If you’re still not sure about how to celebrate this year, we’ve got you covered. There are some great events and goings-on in Miami this upcoming three-day weekend… read ahead to learn more!

National Salute to America’s Heroes

Pay tribute to those who have sacrificed their lives for our country by attending National Salute to America’s Heroes. The two-day event takes place along Ocean Drive and will honor the country’s military and first responders with the spectacular Honda Air & Sea Show in addition to other demonstrations and interactive displays. Find tickets and more information here.

Relax Poolside at Monarc

Use the three-day weekend to grab some much-needed R&R right here at Monarc. Our private pool is exclusive to Monarc residents, and features tons of space for recharging. Take a dip to cool off, then lounge in the sun in one of our many poolside chairs and cabanas. Our massive elevated sundeck is gorgeously maintained with lush greenery, and provides the ideal space for relaxing with some yoga, enjoying activities like bocce, or grilling up a summer feast for friends.

Party at The Oasis

Miami’s new cultural hub The Oasis in Wynwood hosts its first-ever Dance With Me event this Memorial Day weekend. Featuring 30 artists over two stages, the event promises to make the most of the sprawling outdoor venue, with art, live music, and excellent food and beverage options to check out. Find more information and reserve your ticket here.

Explore Biscayne National Park

Memorial Day weekend is a great time to plan an adventure to nearby Biscayne National Park. With 95% of the park submerged in water, be prepared for some exciting underwater exploring like snorkeling over a coral reef or diving a shipwreck along the Maritime Heritage Trail. Biscayne National Park is roughly an hour drive from downtown Miami, and offers a wonderful opportunity for taking in the natural beauty of our region. Find more info about planning your visit here.

Visit Superblue

A fascinating new immersive art exhibit, Superblue is a multi-sensory installation that uses light, video, and sound to offer visitors a transformative experience. Located across from the contemporary Rubell Museum, make a day out of discovering the latest offerings from Miami’s thriving art scene, then finish with lunch at on-site European-inspired eatery Blue Rider. Find more information and plan your visit here.
